Step 2 Make an appointment

Take a closer look. Make an appointment with one of the McRaeway Homes Sales Principals who will listen to your needs and begin creating your McRaeway home. If a standard or modified plan doesn’t suit your needs, you can be supported with one-on-one professional advice by the vastly experienced McRaeway Homes architectural designers. Whatever your needs, McRaeway Homes will be here to make it a reality.

Once you have chosen your home design and products, we’ll put together a concept plan, schedule of materials and price for approval prior to commitment. Communication and planning is the key to establishing the final price for the home package and builders on-site costs. This way you’ll know how much your McRaeway Home will cost before you begin your McRaeway home build.

Although you may choose your own builder, electing to engage an accredited McRaeway Homes Network Builder will give you additional security, support and assurance during the construction of your home. Each network builder has a proven record and is completely familiar with the McRaeway Homes process. Your sales principal will co-ordinate the pricing process although you will need to participate in making choices and providing necessary site information to enable both McRaeway Homes and the builder prepare accurate pricing. It is simply a matter of adding the home package and builder prices together to gain an overall budget prior to commitment.

This is the stage where you’re ready to make your McRaeway Home a reality. You’ve finalised the plans and order content, pricing is known and we’re ready to go.

A 15% deposit is required to confirm the order which activates working drawings for Building Consent, production scheduling and target despatch date is set.

Working drawings for standard models are included in the home package price, based on a level building platform with concrete slab foundations and maximum High wind zone. Outside this, additional costs for custom design and/or specific site conditions will incur additional cost stipulated clearly in your final quotation.

In most cases, McRaeway Homes will lodge for Building Consent with Council on your behalf and moniter the process through until issued, keeping you informed as necessary. Our aim is to get Consent issued as quickly as possible and get your home underway in line with agreed target dates.

Step 6 Putting the home package together

Every order is a special order because it’s your order. An advanced level of technology integrates all aspects of McRaeway Homes. Running parallel with the Building Consent process, the McRaeway Homes Operations team is putting together the ‘recipe’ for your individual order, working closely with manufacturing and supplier partners to ensure quality and timeframes are met. In conjunction, the builders will be preparing your site and both will focus on your agreed start date.

Step 7 Delivery and construction of your McRaeway Home begins

Both you and your builder will be contacted to ensure all is ready for the great day – the big truck arrives with initial home package components. Unless building in a remote location when ALL material is delivered at once, delivery of the home package is staged over a few weeks for builders convenience and safety issues.

Be aware that payment for the home package is due on that initial delivery date. As mentioned in step 4, ensure your finance is in place. You may have arranged your own finance or have been eligible for the exclusive McRaeway Homes ‘BNZ Finance Package’ to ensure financing your new home is as easy as possible and McRaeway payment terms are met.

Even though McRaeway Homes may not be building the home package, you will receive support throughout the entire construction period. If you have engaged a network builder, he will be project managing your job day by day. Our Building Coordinator, Ross Brown, will undertake site visits, with both building and operations staff available on 0800 MCRAEWAY to answer any queries and ensure that every stage of the build is to the highest McRaeway Homes standard. Naturally, your Sales Principal will also remain in touch.

Step 8 Your McRaeway Home is now complete!

You are now ready to move into your new home, having joined more than 6,500 families who live in a McRaeway home. Your McRaeway Home experience does not need to end here. We’ll stay in touch and are always ready for when you need us again.
